Nathaniel Smith, Licensed Professional Counselor
Nathaniel Smith is the creator of the Temper Tamers program. He leverages his education and experience in psychology and sociology to provide counseling for families, groups and individuals.
His certification and specialization in anger and depression management has allowed him to help many individuals in the Dallas area to change their self-defeating behaviors. As well, he has helped people to develop their optimal potential, identify their current problems, gauge their strengths and make positive choices. Nathaniel believes that everyone has the limitless potential to heal and grow, and all that is needed is to realize that potential.
Certifications & Licenses
In addition to being the creator and Top Temper Tamers Program Instructor for Facilitator Certification, Nathaniel Smith has also earned certification in several areas of specialization. These include anger resolution therapy and tobacco cessation treatment.
His licenses include Professional Counselor Supervisor with the Texas State Board and National Certified Counselor. He is also a member of the Texas Council On Family Violence as well as the American Counseling Association. In addition, he has an accredited program through the Texas Department of Criminal Justice to treat both men and women who batter.
He is an experienced anger management group supervisor and has helped hundreds of individuals successfully tame their tempers. His experience has led to the writing of several articles about domestic violence, protective orders and tips about how to manage anger during the divorce process.
His 15+ years experience with individual, couple and group counseling in the Dallas area has earned him specializations in anger management, conflict resolution, couples divorce, domestic violence and cognitive behavior therapy.
In addition, Nathaniel helped facilitate a training class for adolescent youth, as well as being a Provider Advisory Board Member to the Blue Cross And Blue Shield of Texas. He has been a guest speaker on a multitude of occasions, which have included radio programs, talk shows, Mental Health Professional training sessions, educational workshops and psychological seminars.
